this is a charcoal drawing i made during the drawing classes i took in spain in 2002. the courses i took there for about 10 months were the only formal art classes i ever had. i used a charcoal eraser so the white you see in the piece is the paper itself.
Badass, Charcoal drawing is the only form of Drawing I have ever really done anything good at, I should get into it a little more. When I was 12 I did a peice of work with artwork at primary school art classes, which I would never do that good at, and the principal of the school said sarcasically "Who did you get to do this for you?" when he seen the charcoal drawing. I might be able to find it somewhere and put it online one day.
That's the best way to do charcoal - you make me want to get back into doing those type of drawings. Thanks for sharing these Lucio (I voted for your photography by the way...hint hint.. )
Very good stuff. You've got a real Deco flair. Charcoal used to be one of my favorites, but then it got warped by the exstrainous exercises I had to do with it for class. Moving into paint was one of the greatest things I've ever done because sometimes I feel like I'm back playing around with my beloved charcoals. Painting on paper helps the experience along.
