this is a pastel i made of one of the most beautiful places i´ve ever been to, a brazilian national park called "chapada dos veadeiros", located in the state of goiás. i went there last year with some friends, it was a very cool trip.
i took lots of pictures that i liked a lot, and i made this pastel from one of the pictures.
That is amazing how soft you got that while retaining the sharpness and contrast of the sky against the land. I don't know why but i am really drawn to the little bit of orange in the tall grass on the left. You rendered the clouds like magic.
i liked your comment because you got to a very interesting point when you noticed the sharp skyline. to me that is indeed one of the things i appreciate the most about this painting, and it did take a lot of meticulous work. i had to sharpen and soften the traces using its contrast color (the brown and green moutain against the white/blue sky) and i used a lot even my little finger to soften the trace´s outline and also to sharpen them, and by doing both the pastel´s grainy outline disappears.

So soft and lush. You should do something sensual in pastel or oil paint since you're so good at blending. I love the dark shadows on the road. The composition is good in this piece also. A good road always boosts the composition.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

My heart beat beats me senselessly.
Why's everything got to be so intense with me?
